The company/project 
Our client, a dynamic and growing engineering firm, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join their dedicated accounts team. With a focus on overseas accounts, this role requires someone with a keen eye for detail and the ability to navigate the complexities of engineering and remote mining finances.
The role 
As an Accounts Payable Officer, you will manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in handling overseas transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Process, verify, and reconcile invoices, with a focus on overseas accounts, particularly in Africa.
  • Utilize MYOB Advanced and Excel to manage and track account activities.
  • Work closely with the existing accounts team of five, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring timely payments and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports related to accounts payable as required by the Financial Controller.
  • Apply knowledge of the engineering and remote mining industries to manage in-out goings of accounts effectively.
What you'll need to succeed
  • Previous experience in an Accounts Payable role, preferably within a similar industry.
  • Technical Skills: Must have Advanced proficiency in MYOB and Excel.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the engineering and remote mining sectors is highly desirable.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a close-knit team.
  • Work Ethic: Must be a hard-working individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
