Join a dynamic team as an Accounts Payable Accountant in the thriving energy sector! This full-time contract role offers you the opportunity to contribute to financial reporting and regulatory compliance for a leading company in the Carbon Capture and Storage industry, all while working in the vibrant city of London.
Role Overview

  • Support accounting, reporting, and finance activities.
  • Prepare, analyze, and submit regulatory reporting including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to regulators and lenders.
  • Draft financial statements for semi-annual periods and year-end reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate internal reporting to the company, including SAP to Mastro reconciliation.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations and accounting schedules for designated accounts.
  • Contribute to the setup of accounting and reporting systems in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain internal control systems and accounting policies.
  • Liaise with various departments within Finance to support CCUS business activities.
  • Provide constructive advice on accounting matters to management and technical departments.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting procedures and regulatory frameworks.
  • Support statutory and regulatory audit processes.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong administrative skills with experience in document control systems.
  • Proficient in statutory and regulatory accounting principles.
  • Advanced level proficiency in Excel.
  • Familiarity with SAP for financial reporting.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships internally and externally.
Education & Experience
  • Master's degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Management or equivalent (essential).
  • Professional qualification (ACCA, CA, CIMA or similar) with a strong understanding of international and statutory accounting principles.
  • Extensive relevant experience in senior accounting roles within the Oil & Gas or Energy industry.
