Airswift is seeking a Legal Associate to work on a permanent assignment in Shanghai, China with a major renewable Company. 

Job Responsibilities:
• You will collaborate with local business leaders (Business Development, Corporate Finance, Project Finance and Construction) as well as with supporting areas (Finance, Admin, Accounting & HR) advising on legal risks, business strategies and other issues related to the Company’s businesses.
• Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of legal activities, including communicating with law firms and other advisors, business partners and governmental authorities.
• Advise on renewable energy/power generation regulatory framework with a proper understanding of the main terms and conditions of tender documents, bidding requirements, consortium/ MOU/MOC agreements with partners to participate in tenders, project financing agreements, power purchase agreements (PPA) and other typical contracts/ agreements not limited to internationally used by the renewable energy industry.
• Draft and negotiate simple and complex contracts including those related to renewable energy power generation projects and not limited to non-disclosure agreements, sales and purchase agreements, energy performance contracts, commission framework agreements, engineering procurement contracts, joint venture agreements, acquisition related documents, power of attorney, corporate guarantees, and many others.
• Advise on general business law issues and managing the legal issues of all areas of the company, including but not limited to corporate matters, procurement, safety, security, insurance and sustainability issues.
• Represent the department as required in liaison with the Country Manager / Business Development Units and other relevant support units such as Finance, Corporate Finance, Accounts, FP&A, Asset Management Office, Engineering and Procurement office, Operations and Maintenance Unit, etc.
• To anticipate and manage the (legal) risks connected with or resulting from the business strategy and operations.
• Secure compliance of business operations with relevant laws and regulations.
• Pro-actively create and maintain awareness of business employees for (compliance with) relevant laws and regulations. • Ability to deliver high-quality work under deadlines.

Qualification: 
• Master’s / Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a reputable university with minimum 8- 12 years of experience as in-house legal manager in renewables and/or corporate/ commercial company.
• Admitted to practice Chinese law in the PRC.
• Good command of written and spoken Chinese and English.
• Relevant experience in at least one of the following areas: M&A, Commercial and Project Finance.
• Solid knowledge of general businesslaw issues of an independent power producer, including regulatory framework.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• Flexibility to work in an international and fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Highly organized and client-focused team player.
