The role
As a Buyer, you will be responsible for you will be responsible for purchasing a wide variety engineered and non-engineered materials and equipment (and associated services) on a competitive basis as required by project or Company needs. Broad experience, particularly in procurement activities typical to the engineering, construction, energy, chemical and resources sectors is required.
What you'll need to succeed
- Strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards in project settings.
- Possesses a University Degree in supply chain, law, business administration, quantity surveying/construction management, or a related discipline; MCIPS/RIQS accreditation is highly regarded.
- Extensive experience in contracts and procurement for major projects within EPCM/EPC organisations.
- Proven ability to develop and execute procurement strategies, and to negotiate terms and conditions effectively.
- Experience with project and procurement software systems, maintaining a rigorous approach to data management; familiarity with Aveva ERM, Requis, and Aconex is a significant advantage.
