Airswift is supporting a global engineering based in the Stenungsund, Sweden, to work one of many chemical projects they have in their growing project portfolio. The Construction Manager will support the organization and administration of construction and field personnel and assists in coordinating on-site activities. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, this role provides guidance to Site Engineers, Supervisors, and HSE personnel, ensuring that all safety and environmental standards are met.
Key Responsibilities and background
- Assist the Project Manager and HSE team in implementing the Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) Plan.
- Support in developing the construction schedule and site resource planning.
- Help establish and manage project site facilities.
- Work with site teams to ensure contracts are executed safely, on budget, and on schedule.
- Assist in overseeing the administration of site contracts.
- Monitor site performance and ensure safety and quality standards are upheld.
- Participate in reviews of the HSSE Plan and ensure that all safety equipment and PPE are appropriate and effective.
- Take part in assurance activities, including risk assessments and job hazard analysis sessions.
- Ensure the availability of resources and support for meeting HSE objectives.
- This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in construction management while working closely with seasoned professionals.
Critical Skills & Personal Attributes:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Some relevant experience or internships in construction management or related roles; familiarity with FEED-EPC projects in industries like oil & gas, petrochemical, or chemical is a plus.
- Basic leadership and team coordination abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Basic conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Adaptability and flexibility in managing evolving project requirements.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to learning and contributing to project success.
