One of our major oil and gas companies has tasked us to seek a Contract Health & Safety Advisor for a 4-6 month, on a 7-7 rotation position located in Calgary, AB. This role will support upcoming winter operations within their Well Delivery team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to execution teams on interpreting applicable OHS legislation, industry standards, and H&S program components.
  • Coach and provide authoritative guidance on health and safety programs, processes, and standards.
  • Assist in implementing the H&S strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Participate in the review of project-specific safety documents and attend contractor performance meetings.
  • Ensure H&S planning aligns with the business strategy and growth plans.
  • Coach, influence, and empower stakeholders regarding H&S ownership.
  • Communicate relevant H&S information to stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Steward safe performance within the Operational Integrity Management System (OIMS) and related H&S requirements.
  • Build and sustain an H&S capability platform tailored to the needs of field operations.
  • Collaborate across the organization to share best practices, lessons learned, and improve knowledge management.
  • Stay updated on emerging H&S issues and legislation, assisting assets with compliance to H&S requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • 10+ years of experience supporting Drilling and Completions.
  • OH&S education, such as NCSO, CRSP, or CRST certification.
  • Previous experience on drilling and completions rigs is desirable.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Health & Safety management systems.
  • Willingness to gain detailed knowledge of all relevant H&S standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to make decisions under tight timelines and multiple pressures.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and solution development.
