The Senior Emergency Response Officer is a leadership role with a broad scope of responsibilities, stepping into the Senior Emergency Response Advisor role during their absence due to vacations, off-site training, family emergencies, or illness. This position demands exceptional leadership skills and the ability to make critical decisions during emergencies, ensuring effective management and response to emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert emergency response and apply professional skills and techniques at the emergency scene.
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of fire apparatus and equipment.
- Conduct fire code inspections of site facilities and develop pre-fire plans.
- Offer leadership and training to Auxiliary Emergency Response Team members.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety requirements and regulations established.
- Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation, and Code.
- Share knowledge to coach and mentor colleagues effectively.
- Maintain a calm, clear, and concise demeanor in high-pressure situations.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of fire-fighting experience.
- NFPA 1001 Level 1 & 2 Certification.
- NFPA 1002 Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Certification.
- NFPA 1002 Pump Operator Certification.
- NFPA 1072 Technician Level Certification.
- ICS 100 & 200 Certification.
- NFPA 1006 Rope Rescue Awareness, Level 1 & 2 Certification.
- NFPA 1021 Fire Officer Level 1 Certification.
- NFPA 1041 Fire Instructor Level 1 & 2 Certification.
- Current Health Care Provider CPR (BLS) Certification.
- Valid Alberta Driver’s License Class 3/4 with airbrake (Q) endorsement.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite of programs.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
