Our client is seeking a Contract Specialist for Materials to work within their facilities located in Deer Park, TX for a long-term contract. As a member of a Supply Chain Commercial Team, this role will bring provide specialized materials management capability to the commercial execution teams, enabling and influencing the wider organization to consistently deliver best-in-class deals throughout the life of contracts, managing Contract(or)s for performance, maximizing value delivery from contracts, ensuring no value leakage, and removing any waste in the End-to-End supply chain. This role will provide materials management support and coach others to increase the skills of the wider supply chain community, supporting the role out and implementation of material management solutions within contract management.

Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Supply Chain, gained through operations or excellence roles in Planning / Logistics / Materials Management / Contracting and Procurement.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US on a fulltime basis.
  • Commercial savvy, business acumen, and ability to work on numerous fronts across several initiatives.
  • Experienced in materials management, sourcing process management, contract management, and supplier relationship management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluent English (verbal and written)
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, ideally SAP (IM/MM Module)
  • Familiarity with developing Power BI dashboards
  • Familiarity with developing applications in PowerApps, Power Automate, or MS Flow
  • Strong background in other MS Office 365 Applications

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or other relevant fields.
  • In-depth understanding of E2E SC with the focus on materials or demand planning and SC segmentation techniques to drive value delivery through timely visibility of demand.
  • Able to understand the business activities, interpret business demand and translate this into SC demand to deliver a safe and rationalized SC Demand Plan balancing costs and agreed service level
  • Able to manage and analyze significant amounts of data
  • Solid understanding of inventory and material management practices and procedures.
  • Understand and apply use of analytics and process indicators to drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong E2E process management thinking
Responsibilities:
 
  • Contract Management of 70+ material suppliers and fabrication shops.
  • Work closely with Category Managers and key stakeholders within various Businesses and Functions to execute Category Management commercial work plans, assuring supply of contracts at market competitive terms and conditions.
  • Design and improve assigned supply chains with business partners, starting with inhouse/outsource choices and (re)designs, the contracting strategy and commercial tactics and post-award contract management.
  • Develop and implement pragmatic procurement strategies and tactics based on regularly updated cost models, business requirements and supplier industry analyses.
  • Drive total cost reductions and value beyond ‘the usual’ (cash preservation/cost savings/process efficiency). Identify opportunities in the contract portfolio to create more value and/or eliminate waste. 
  • Determine the right remuneration model (e.g., output-based contract) to encourage the right behaviours and expectations from suppliers to optimize the alignment of the supply chain and asset delivery.
  • Deliver Operational Excellence in the development of contracting strategy to post award contract management. This includes management of cycle times in accordance with business needs and ensuring SC operations organization and SC Operations managed processes are easy to work with. 
  • Drive Continuous Improvement principles to create a performance culture. Drive and support the CP Compliance with processes and regulations. Implement standard processes, methodologies, tools, and enablers.
  • Drive compliance with the Code of Conduct, commercial assurance, and group assurance processes.
  • Drive and leverage digitalization of SC operations. Improve usage of digital tools and insights to deliver business value and efficiency. Be forefront in driving digitalization and right first-time data ownership.
  • Track and report Key Performance Indicators; report project progress to Contracting & Procurement (CP) and Asset Leadership.
  • HSSE: Ensure Supply Chain strategies, and contract development, implementation and management support Goal Zero Aspiration through robust Contractor Safety Management practices and alignment to the company’s personal and process safety Goal Zero focus areas.
  • Process: Ensure application of the E2E contracting process, using commercial judgment, common sense, and a simplification mindset, understanding the difference between non-negotiable compliance elements (Safety, Ethics and Compliance, Code of Conduct, Law) and Supply Chain operating practices, while always keeping enterprise business value in focus.
  • Provide insight on material demand and data quality.
  • Provides analyses and reports on trends, KPI’s and progress on performance.
  • Standardization of materials, preferably to industry standards
  • Good understanding of Requisition to Pay (RtP) process and what drives performance and functional excellence in RtP.
  • Ability/confidence to intervene effectively and provide constructive commercial challenge, potentially with senior management, when required to ensure compliance with core CP processes or provide situational transparency.
