Location – Kingston, London, UK
Duration: 12 Months renewable
The role encompasses deployment of Contract Management activities for London hub, covering a new pipeline project.
The selected candidate shall:
• Review and qualify or draft different types of contracts, including but not limited to: engineering, procurement, Construction,(EPC) transportation and installation, service contracts, as well as associated confidentiality agreements, non-disclosure and restrictive use agreements; partnership/consortium/joint venture/alliance agreements, subcontract agreements;
• Manage the workload in coordination with Tendering/Commercial, Project Management and Procurement functions, collecting the inputs from the other functions, including Insurance, Tax and Finance;
• Prepare Contract Summaries on tender/project specific basis;
• Advise Company and Corporate Management on the main contractual risks, identifying and proposing contractual mitigation actions;
• Participate in meetings (with internal clients, external clients, partners and subcontractors), negotiating, taking notes and preparing summaries and/or Minutes of Meeting;
• Negotiate the contractual instruments with the counterparties in the best interests of the Company and in accordance with Company risk policies;
• Support the Project Management teams in the determination of claims and contract management strategies , in the preparation and evaluation of variation order requests, and in the drafting of key project correspondence towards clients, major subcontractors and/or other interfacing third parties ;
• Support the Procurement function in the review of subcontracts and purchase orders;
• Draft all related legal instruments and correspondence;
• Perform legal research, e.g. case law affecting Company market space;
• Have knowledge of the industry standard contracts (FIDIC, LOGIC, BIMCO, IOCs’ etc.);
• Assist in the resolution of legal and contractual matters, in coordination with the relevant Corporate functions.
• Regularly report to the Company and Corporate Management on the Contract Management activities.
Essential Skills
• Knowledge and experience of English Law;
• Proven experience of reviewing and advising on tendering contracts and of administrating project contracts and effective negotiation skills are essential;
• Proven experience negotiating and executing offshore construction contracts
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, listening and influencing;
• Strong commercial awareness;
• Ability to work under time pressure to meet deadlines;
• Critical thinking and problem solving skills;
• Leadership skills;
• Team player attitude;
• International mobility both for short missions and potentially for long-term assignments.
