Airswift is looking for a Corporate Accountant to support a major client in Houston, TX on a 12-month contact

The corporate accountant will prepare and analyze balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports. In addition, analyzes trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred. Other responsibilities include monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, investment entries, inter-company eliminations, amortization of pre-paid expenses, general accruals and ad hoc reporting.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and analyze balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
  • Maintain investments and record quarterly journal entries.
  • Prepare monthly trial balances for several subsidiaries based on their accounting records and upload to SAP.
  • Assist in the preparation of Local Statutory Audited Financial Statements.
  • Prepare and record intercompany elimination entries.
  • Analyze account activity and propose correcting journal entries, as applicable.
  • Prepare and record journal entries for general and administrative accruals.
  • Record activities and maintain accounting records for affiliated companies. 
  • Provide forecast data to the planning group.
  • Assist with inter-company billings and related journal entries.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations.
  • Assist the Corporate Reporting Manager with the preparation of data for the interim and year end audits.
  • Code invoices related to finance department activities.
  • Maintain SAP Master Data.
  • Assist with maintenance of SAP reports.
  • Special projects as needed.

Requirements:
  • Minimum five years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in exploration and production.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other related field required, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Familiar with accounting concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to utilize experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Strong understanding of Financial Statements and intercompany transactions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and computer application skills.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
  • Good customer service skills.
