Airswift has been tasked by one of our key clients to seek a Cost Estimator to join them in Monaco on a 1-year contract.

Job Description
As Cost Estimator, you are accountable to deliver in due time, the most accurate cost estimate for a defined scope. You will ensure to give the best cost view for a given system, which will allow the most accurate and efficient financial tracking during the project execution phase. When applicable, you are responsible to supervise Cost Estimators on a proposal.

Detailed activities:
1.1. Collect cost and technical data towards numerous stakeholders (ie: Engineering, Construction, Finance, Tax…)
1.2. Challenge the technical elements to ensure their consistency in regards to the defined scope
1.3. Ensure the accuracy of the data in regards to benchmarks
1.4. Ensure exhaustiveness of the cost estimate

The measure of your effectiveness in this will be:

  • Minimum costs missing and minimum errors in the estimation
2. In order to develop the cost estimating activity, you are to:
2.1. Analyse previous projects and lessons learnt, pro-actively interacting with Cost Engineers
and Cost Controllers
2.2. Propose and lead, in specific areas, the development of estimation tools, benchmarks,
norms to improve quality of the future estimation
2.3. Maintain departmental cost databases on main network
The measure of your effectiveness in this will be that:
  • Benchmarks are most up-to-date
  • Benchmarks are consistent with our client’s references
3. In order to ensure accurate cost control during the execution phase by the Finance team, you
are to:
3.1. Generate and maintain all the required documentation, back up and estimation basis to
explain the cost estimate to the Cost Engineers
The measure of your effectiveness in this will be:
  • Overall good understanding of the estimation by Cost Engineer
 
  • Required documentation dully conveyed to Cost Engineers

4. (When applicable) In order to have a highly efficient and successful team to support the
Project, you are to:
4.1. Understand the required competencies and resources to deliver the cost estimate for the
prospect
4.2. Coordinate and supervise the Cost Estimating team by providing appropriate guidance and direction

Job Requirements:
  • From Bachelor to Master degree (technical or business related)
  • Fluent in English
  • Good technical knowledge on the concept/technology work and strong ability to understand technical subjects.
  • Good knowledge of Excel (functions, pivot tables, macro is a +)
  • Previous experience in Estimation/Cost control/Cost management is a +
