Airswift is seeking for an EAP Counselor to work on a 12-months assignment with one of our clients in Midstream O&G in Houston, TX.

The Employee Assistance Program is an integral part of the Health Services team focused on helping the company maintain a safe and productive workforce. The EAP employs a hybrid model with internal EAP staff and an external vendor. The EA Contingent Advisor provides internal EA services under the direction of the EAP manager.

Responsibilities include:
Provide intervention, assessment, brief counseling (in-person or via Teams), and referrals to appropriate resources for EA situations that impact the workplace. EA contingent advisor provides case management and follow up support to employees as appropriate for the situation.
Provide substance use evaluation and referral with special considerations for safety sensitive employees. Facilitates the return-to-work process and follow up for employees in the EA substance use aftercare monitoring program.
Works with the external EAP vendor and MH/SUD partners to ensure employee’s EA and MH/SUD needs are being appropriately addressed. Helps facilitate resolution for unmet EA/MH/SUD employee needs.
Consultation with HR, Legal, Health Services, Security, and BU Leadership to address work performance concerns that may have behavioral health components. This may include the fitness for duty or supervisory referral processes. It may also include work team interventions.
Provide and/or facilitate critical incident response (CIR). When possible, the EA contingent advisor will respond to critical incidents. If it is not practical or possible the EA contingent advisor may be called on to help coordinate and manage the vendor’s CIR response. Specialized training and experience are required in CIR.
Provide EA related trainings/presentations designed to promote mental health wellness, reduce stigma, and enhance the safety and productivity of the workforce.
Aids EA manager in creating, managing, and supporting mental wellbeing initiatives.
Aids EA manager in managing EA documentation, P&P manual updates, and other EA related departmental needs.
If the EA Manager is unavailable, will sit on the Threat Assessment Team and provide behavioral health expertise as it relates to threat assessment.

Basic requirements:
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• MS or higher in the Behavioral Health field
• Computer literate, able to create presentations, and complete electronic EAP records
• 5+ years of EAP experience (internal experience preferred), including experience in providing MHSUD assessment and referral, threat assessment and critical incident response
• Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP)
• Advanced level of knowledge of brief therapy and solution-focused treatment methods
• Licensure: LCSW, LMSW, LPC, LAPC, LMFT, or Ph.
