Our business
Our EPC contractor client are recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to join their team on a refinery in Gelsenkirchen, Germany on an initial 18 month basis. The role will involve conducting basic and detailed engineering tasks for large-scale industrial plant construction projects.

Key Responsibilities and background:
- Execute projects in large-scale industrial plant construction with a focus on electrical engineering aspects.
- Assist in conducting basic and detailed engineering tasks to ensure project success and adherence to industry standards.
- Engage in technical discussions with customers, suppliers, and installation companies to address project requirements.
- Provide support with schedules, workload planning, budget tracking, and cost calculations to ensure project milestones are met.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to integrate electrical engineering aspects into project designs.
- Assist in engineering equipment in switchgear houses, including switchgear, transformers, and UPS systems.
- Assist in the design of electrical drive systems with motors and converters, and support with network and load calculations.
- Participate in the design of cable systems, lighting, communication systems, and earthing solutions in accordance with project specifications.
- Assist in creating and evaluating technical inquiries to ensure project compliance and efficiency.
- Support technical site management during installation and commissioning phases to ensure successful project completion.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automation technology, or mechatronics, or certification as a state-certified electrical engineering technician.
- Solid professional experience in industrial or plant planning within the refinery, petrochemical, or chemical sectors.
- Proactive and communicative approach to work, with a willingness to learn and develop in a dynamic environment.
- Basic knowledge or exposure to project management, document management, and occupational health and safety practices.
- Familiarity with explosion protection and plant safety regulations is a plus.
- Exposure to engineering with CAE systems and engineering databases is beneficial.
- Proficiency with the MS Office package.
- Business fluency, written and spoken German and English skills (min B2 German).
