Elevate Your Career in Engineering - Instrumentation and Controls Engineer III with Airswift
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering - Instrumentation and Controls Engineer III to join our client on a full-time contract basis. This is a unique opportunity to work on a major project in the oil and gas industry, located in Hides, Hela, Papua New Guinea.
Role Overview
- Evaluate and comment on discipline engineering work to ensure compliance with project specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate effective execution of discipline engineering and design routines to align with project goals and procedures.
- Communicate accurately and timely with project team and other company functions regarding engineering activities, progress, and issues.
- Execute control system life cycle management programs, including inventory, obsolescence planning, spare parts management, and upgrade/replacement planning.
- Support control system maintenance and testing, including software upgrades, ESD testing, and coordination of activities with plant shutdowns.
- Plan and coordinate maintenance for metering systems used in custody transfer, allocation, regulatory, and leak detection applications.
- Assist in planning and coordination of tasks related to control system cyber security.
- Review systems for compliance with company's Industrial Control System Requirements (ICSR) to minimize cybersecurity threats.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary alarm management efforts, including alarm rationalization, prioritization, and design/modification of alarm systems.
- Review, update, and develop technical documentation and drawings for instruments and controls, including P&IDs, cause and effect diagrams, and control narratives.
- Travel to production affiliate office/facility locations for onsite support or rollout of new global support initiatives.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or MS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Extensive knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria.
- Experience in reviewing and evaluating cause and effect diagrams, P&IDs, logic and architecture diagrams, and control narratives.
- Proficiency in selecting and specifying hardware for pressure/temperature/level instruments, control valves, shutdown valves, and fire/gas detection.
- Skilled in data collection and analysis using tools such as SAP, Analytics for Excel, and Tableau.
- Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
- Fluent in English for technical and business communications.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's or MS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.
- Experience in electrical commissioning, instrumentation, A&D, EC&I, instrumentation calibration & testing, electrical construction methods and materials, instrumentation design & documentation, instrument construction, instrument & controls, instrument location drawings, and control systems preferred.
