Environmental / Regulatory Advisor
- Dockland, Melbourne
- 12 Months Contract
Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead consultation with relevant persons / stakeholders
- Share results of consultation with relevant business units and assist as needed to develop plans to implement measures that we commit to adopt or propose to adopt as a result of consultation
- Develop and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders including fishing industry associations to establish pathways for meaningful ongoing consultation regarding operations activities and decommissioning plans
- Provide stakeholder consultation support to Project activities including Decommissioning and CCS projects
- Provide stakeholder consultation support to onshore business activities as needed
Specific consultation activities may include:
- Preparation of annual reports
- Sharing annual reports with stakeholders.
- Write the consultation sections for all Environment Plans.
- Produce consultation reports for all Environment Plans.
- Develop stakeholder advocacy plans.
- Annual/quarterly stakeholder engagement forecasting
- Develop and implement stakeholder identification methodology.
- Consult with various stakeholders / stakeholder groups as needed
- Produce and present quarterly KPI reports.
- Develop Information Bulletins for offshore activities.
- Create stakeholder profiles.
- Attend community dinners and committee meetings for stakeholder engagement.
- Plan and attending community drop-in sessions
- Member of the East Coast Oil and Gas consultation group.
- Attend various meetings / seminars / working groups related to consultation (incl APPEA, NOPSEMA, etc).
- Recording engagement information in stakeholder database
- Managing stakeholder feedback.
- Gap analysis when environment regulations are changed.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in a closely related position
- Applicants must possess a university degree in Natural or Environmental Sciences, Natural Resource Management, Social Sciences (e.g., anthropology, sociology), Engineering or some other technical field related to E&R management regarding environmental and/or socioeconomic and/or health matters
- Candidates should have experience regarding the environmental and/or socioeconomic and/or health field(s) preferably related to a construction or extractive industry project
- Knowledge of external project financing desirable
- Knowledge of Australia regulations desirable
