Environmental, Social and Governance Manager - Philippines

Airswift is seeking for an Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Manager to be based in the Philippines

Summary:
The ESG Manager will be responsible to develop and manage environmental, social and corporate governance policies and procedures as well as provide technical expertise on key ESG issues and sustainability risks in the design, preparation and operation of all Renewables Projects.

The Client:
Global manufacturer and developer specializing in the design & engineering, procurement, operation & maintenance, and asset management of turnkey solar power plants across 10 countries in ASIA.

Responsibilities

Appraising the environmental, social and human rights impacts and risks of key projects, primarily against international requirements (ADB, IFC, ILO, and Equator Principles).
Defining and agreeing with project staff, financing partners and clients on actions required to uphold the requirements of the Equator Principles and IFC Performance Standards.
Provide guidance to internal teams on sustainability, risks, opportunities including ESG due diligence
Support in organizing sustainability committee meetings and reporting progress
Prepare and review internal control mechanisms and standard operating procedures.
Coordinate and advise on consultancy required work in relation to E&S risks and impacts (onsite and offsite).
Lead coordinate and follow up studies on the integration of E&S requirements in impact assessment in collaboration with lenders.
Lead the development, continuous implementation and update of the plans part of the Environmental and Social Management Systems (ESMS)
Assist with tender/submission documentation.
Carry out internal management system and site audits as part of the internal audit team ensuring that any non-conformances/observations raised because of internal and external audits are effectively resolved and closed out in a timely manner.
Conduct, identify and monitor E&S risk analysis of markets.
Support in the development and evaluation of ESG reporting and standards and coordination on advancing sustainability within the company..

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Environment / Sustainability / Climate Change / ESG / related fields
Knowledge of main EU and international E&S requirements, practices and guidelines (circular economy, EU Habitats Directive, World Bank's EHS Guidelines, Equator Principles, etc.).
Relevant knowledge of Environmental, Social or ESG Due Diligence is a plus.
Experience of operating in international environments, including those of developing countries is a plus.
Demonstrable skills in producing systems, processes, handover documents and manuals.
Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English
Critical and solution-orientated attitude and the ability to communicate ideas clearly and confidently.

Job Responsibilities

Job Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: Studies electricity, intermediate or engineering studies.
At least 1 year of work experience in commissioning or maintenance of specialized TROUBLE SHOOTING, O&M Procedures and schemes understanding.
Product Knowledge: Different kinds of wind turbines (Gamesa, Acciona, GE, Alstom….)
Language : French and English are required ; Spanish is a plus

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Computer Skills: Good working knowledge of Microsoft products and PLCS
Work Environment: Ability to work at height and in confined spaces. Working regularly in outdoor weather conditions

The business is seeking a Rotating Equipment Subject Matter Expert to help develop its zero-emissions technology portfolio, from conception to launch. This will be a direct hire position within the groups central engineering team. The unique role involves an expertise in mechanical principles relating to the design, evaluation, and selection of turbines, pumps, turboexpanders, compressors, and other similar equipment. The successful candidate will be tasked with leading internal mechanical design aspects of novel technology development and commercial project execution while working in a fast-paced, innovative, and creative environment.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary resource for rotating equipment across a variety of processes
Support technology development and equipment design maturation for novel processes, from concept to commercialization.
Optimize technical, safety, and economic performance of processes through selection and design of ideal rotating equipment.
Develop specifications for existing and first-of-a-kind equipment packages.
Identify and manage equipment vendors for rotating equipment.
Generate mechanical specifications and designs of rotating equipment.
Design and provide economic analyses of rotating equipment based on process requirements.
Implement applicable codes and standards in equipment design for industrial applications.
Perform safety-related calculations and provide input to HAZID/ENVID, HAZOP, SIL, and other safety reviews as directed.
Plan, coordinate, and manage day-to-day activities associated with the delivery of engineering services to meet the scope requirements of the projects or services.
Executes routine and detailed engineering calculations using first principles in support of the technical solutions proposed.
Collaborate with external partners and vendors to develop and execute equipment selection plans
Participate in the development, revision, and review of engineering documentation such as equipment data sheets, equipment lists, critical equipment RFPs, and manufacturing packages.

Required Experience

Minimum Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering Preferred).
Professional Engineering license preferred.
Minimum 25 years of experience in mechanical design, specification, selection, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of rotating equipment.
Extensive knowledge of pumps, compressors, turbines, turbomachinery and associated power trains.
Experience with high pressure and supercritical fluid applications of rotating equipment.
Detailed knowledge of rotating equipment suppliers, as well as metallurgy, fabrication techniques and modularization.
Experience with gas processing and industrial gases including but not limited to H2, H2S, O2 and CO2.
Experience with thermochemical and cryogenic processes.
A clear understanding of the commercial implications of engineering solutions proposed and how they affect the project economics and risk profile.
Experience conducting fabrication surveillance.
Knowledge and experience with interpreting and applying international codes and standards for design and analysis of rotatory equipment such as API 610, ASME B73, API 674, API 676, API 672, API 618, API 619 among others.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including negotiation and conflict resolution.
Excellent client-facing skills and the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Willingness to mentor team members.
Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking across various projects.
A demonstrable understanding of the lifecycle of a project from R&D concept through to construction and the various phases of development to commercial operation.

Job summary:

The team’s task is to engage in the preservation of the Plant, minimizing costs and delivering an engineering and maintenance strategy that supports the long-term commercial operation of the Plant.
Asset Engineer are mainly responsible for delivering compliance against legislative, statutory, corporate and site policy and procedures.
Will also deal with providing engineering expertise and ownership for contract management and the delivery of assigned budgets.

Requirements:

Must have relevant Engineering qualifications minimum HND, and / or equivalent experience.
Recognized HSE qualification.

Significant experience in a plant area of the power station and would be classed as a subject matter expert in their field of competence.
Previous experience of working in a technical role in either mechanical, electrical or control and instrumentation discipline.

Experience of managing multiple budgets for OPEX and CAPEX.
Experience of managing multiple contracts as a contract owner.

Able to work in an environment of continuous improvement, looking to identify causes of poor reliability, prioritizing and progressing the solutions.
Knowledgeable and competent in the use of IT systems (Excel, Word, Maximo WMS).
Fluent English: both written and oral.

Initiate contracts and contract awards.
Initiate and deliver major and minor projects in line with the plant area business plan.
Ensure engineering contribution to the cross functional maintenance reliability groups.
