Airswift is working with one of our major clients in the Oil & Gas industry to find an Expeditor II to join their team in Calgary or Edmonton, AB. This is a 1-year contract with the possibility of extension.

 

Must-haves:

  • Minimum 4-7 years of applied experience in a high pace environment.
  • Good working knowledge and experience of expediting best practices and an understanding of logistics, purchasing and project document requirements.
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to maintain and builds strong working relationships.
  • Equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
  • Coordination skills, ability to multi-task, follow up and manage timelines
  • Ability to work on diverse projects and processes with conflicting deadlines.
  • Working Knowledge of Engineering and Vendor Documentation is required.
  • Strong and effective communication skills and attention to detail.

 

Nice-to-haves:

  • Knowledge of MS Windows/Outlook and Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, Oracle Cloud and Salesforce is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. Project Management, Purchasing / Supply Chain Management, B-Com, Finance, Business Admin.)
  • Customer service/Problem Solving/Organizational skills

 

Role Overview:

  • To support the Supply Chain function by expediting and tracking all aspects/deliverables, for items as assigned (items can be included in but not limited to equipment/material required for completion of Purchase Orders, Contracts, or Projects).
  • Proactively expedite assigned item(s), by managing and utilizing stakeholder meetings, systems, templates, processes and either aiding in mitigation of or identifying potential risks.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders including, but not limited to, vendors and key client groups such as; engineering, project team members, project contractors, quality and other SCM team members (e.g. Logistics).

 

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Mentor new hires, project staff, and vendors on expediting processes
  • Manage equipment/material logistics to meet project and construction schedules
  • Coordinate vendor documentation and approvals (e.g., drawings, RFIs, ITPs, WPS, VDRs)
  • Monitor vendor schedules and reports to prevent or resolve delays
  • Communicate issues and delays to stakeholders; work with suppliers on resolutions
  • Schedule, lead, and document vendor meetings; attend project meetings as needed
  • Provide regular status updates and reports in required formats
  • Review and verify invoices for accuracy
  • Resolve freight claims, shipment errors, and documentation/tagging issues
  • Escalate commercial and technical issues to the project team
  • Coordinate deliveries and site readiness for material off-loading
  • Maintain communication with stakeholders and follow standard processes
  • Keep accurate records to support PO/Contract closeout
  • Report regularly to team lead or manager on project and contract status
