This position will focus on providing construction cost and progress controls for the Facility and Storage Programs – Facility Integrity Team.
• Cost Management: Provide Cost tracking: reporting against established construction budget
• Progress Monitoring: Verify actual progress and resources verses planned
• Earned Value Analysis: Provide cost trending reporting to required stakeholders to ensure pro-active management related to forecasted expenditures.
Specific Accountabilities
- Required to record, track, and maintain all submissions related to cost, progress, and change.
- Review and recording of daily Labor, Equipment, and Material tickets (LEMS) for cost and man hour information.
- Interface with contractors to ensure we are provided with correct rates and estimates for updating reports.
- Interface with Inspectors to ensure they are providing accurate documentation for updating reports.
- Review and validation of Invoices to ensure that dates and amounts are in agreement with contract terms.
- Update and maintain earned value reports for all major scopes of work on a daily basis.
- Work with our internal invoice system (Sharepoint) and the Accounts Payable group to ensure invoices are coded properly and sent to the appropriate approver.
- Compilation of scheduled and ad hoc reporting as required by the project personnel.
- Attend and participate in program and contractor update meetings.
- Active participant of the program team; works closely with project engineers, Project Controls Advisor
- Comply with all Enbridge policies and procedures, including but not limited to: Safety, Integrity, Respect, and other applicable trainings.
- Review and recording of daily progress for earned value reporting.
- Conduct critical analysis of project costs and budget
- Other assigned duties.
• Construction Manager and Project Engineer/Manager - the FCA needs to interact closely with project coordinators and inspectors to document and report the construction activities. Outputs the FCA would participate in producing include RFI log(s) and response coordination, WEA, validation of daily LEM, invoice verification, and construction progress scorecards.
• Project Controls Analyst - as a member of project controls team, the FCA needs to work together with project controls analysts to implement project controls plan and strategies.
• Cost Control Associate - The FCA needs to interact with CCA to manage invoices and work orders from creation to closure.
• Construction Contractors - the FCA needs to communicate with contractors to resolve LEM, invoice and progress issues.
• Contract Administrator.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Describe the education, experience and skills required to perform this job).
• Some post-secondary accounting training
• Minimum two years’ experience in Accounts Payable, Contracts, or Project Controls environment
• Experience with Oracle Financials and SharePoint is an asset
• Experience in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite is required
• Good communication, interpersonal, organizational and team skills
• Positive disposition and willing to work within the team’s framework
• Very detail oriented
• Ability to effectively manage and prioritize workload, bring issues forward and develop working relationships at all levels of organization.
