Field Electrical Engineer – Tanami, NT
Our client is seeking a Field Electrical Engineer to work within their facilities in Tanami, NT on a 12-month initial contract.
Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a Field Electrical Engineer to join their site-based team on a 2:1 FIFO roster. You will provide on-site engineering support during the construction phase of the Tanami project. Your role will involve design adjustments, interpretation, and final approval to ensure construction aligns with specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Apply engineering management systems, processes, and tools.
- Deliver high-quality work with technical expertise and accuracy.
- Utilize software tools like MS Office Suite and relevant engineering software.
- Engage in inspection and verification activities.
- Collaborate with contractors and other disciplines.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
- Solve problems and contribute to team meetings.
- Perform field engineering tasks and adjust designs as needed.
- Prepare work packs and calculations.
- Follow construction safety guidelines and choose appropriate materials.
- Minimum 5 years' experience as an EC&I Design and Field Engineer, preferably in mining projects.
- Knowledge of HV systems and protection.
- Proficiency in design and calculation software. (AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, Navisworks, Vault)
- Understanding of electrical engineering codes and safety standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Friendly, confident, and collaborative personality.
- Recognized degree in relevant discipline or equivalent qualification/experience.
- Preferred: Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Membership with Engineers Australia.
- Chartered Professional Engineer status.
