Fleet Technician I is responsible for providing increasingly complex technical repair and maintenance services for the fleet in accordance with Company standards and regulatory requirements.
Major Responsibilities:
- Diagnoses malfunctions and performs vehicle repairs and preventative maintenance on Company vehicles to include, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, and other subsystems within the qualification level and in accordance with all relevant Manufacture’s, Federal, State and local requirements.
- Able to interpret technical service manuals, diagrams and electronic media designed to aid in vehicle repair.
- Requests parts or supplies needed to complete assigned work. Records time spent, parts used and repairs and/or maintenance conducted on appropriate forms or computerized system.
- Participates in technical training programs within and outside of the Company.
- Operates Company vehicles to position for repair, perform road test, road side services, delivery.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of automotive trades experience, or the completion of an accredited automotive vocational training program and 2 years experience.
- ASE certified in 3 or more areas or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire
Job Description – Fleet Technician II
Fleet Technician II is responsible for providing technical automotive repair and maintenance services with a high level of proficiency, generally described as a journeyman level automotive tradesman, and in accordance with Company standards and regulatory requirements.
Major Responsibilities:
- Diagnoses malfunctions and performs vehicle repairs of varying complexity (e.g. adjust/test steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions and oil, temperature, gas regulating components)
- Working knowledge of electronic computer controlled systems and the ability to use On Board Diagnostic interfaces to interpret and repair malfunctions.
- Able to interpret technical service manuals, diagrams and electronic media designed to aid in vehicle repair.
- Determines and requests parts or supplies needed to complete assigned work. Records time spent, parts used and repairs and/or maintenance conducted on appropriate forms or computerized system.
- May inspect, assign work, train or provide mentoring to Technicians with a lower qualification level, participates in technical training and stays current with industry changes.
