HR Manager - Shanghai, China

Airswift is seeking a HR Manager to work on a permanent assignment role in Shanghai, China with a major renewable company 

Brief Job Overview:
As the go-to person on HR matters in China, the position partners with the business leaders regionally and in country to ensure smooth execution of all HR processes throughout the employee lifecycle, and to achieve optimal business outcomes through effective people & talent management initiatives

Job Responsibilities: 
• Partner with business units on people related needs and provide advice on HR issues, work closely with business and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and enhance employee engagement
• Provide feedback, and support CoE team on HR policies/processes review, to optimise efficiency and maintain compliance with changing local labour regulation
• Leveraging technical skills and analytic thinking to advise the business leaders on workforce planning, staff retention, compensation review, etc.
• Partner with business units on performance management, provide HR advisory on code of conduct, disciplinary actions, and compliance investigations
• Support talent management initiatives in China, such as but not limited to hipotentials, leadership development programmes and succession planning
• Work with centralised Talent Acquisition team on local hiring actions, support the interviewing and salary offering during the hiring process
• Work with centralised HR Operations team /external vendors to manage payroll, local income tax, or other required reporting and payments to local authorities
• Oversee staff medical and insurance matters, ensuring proper administration for contract renewal and insurance claims

• Degree in human resources or related disciplines is preferred
• At least 5-7 years in full HR spectrum with relevant hands-on experience
• Prior experience working in a start-up environment will be advantageous
• Strategic mindset to think beyond the operational activities and contribute to regional and global projects
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to deal with senior stakeholders, internal and external parties
• Strong ability to multitask and able to work in an entrepreneurial environment
• Meticulous and able to meet deadlines.
• Ability to drive improvements and provide solutions
• Strong knowledge of labour law, employee relations and compensation and benefits
• Proficiency in MS Office is required
• Energetic with a “think out of the box”, positive mindset
• High IT literacy & strong written and communication ability, in both English and Chinese
• Value alignment: stewardship, collaboration, innovation and with a spirit of excellence
