Key Capabilities:
- Support and advise Site contractors and supervisors with the implementation of the Project Construction Health Safety Environmental Management Plan.
- Support and advise Site Contractors and supervisors with Statutory compliance and Health Safety & Environmental deliverables and keep informed on any changes in the legislation.
- Support and advise the site contractors and supervisors regarding the Critical Risk Management program.
- Attend Prestarts and daily / weekly meetings
- Participate and review Construction Risk Assessment documentation and ensure effective implementation
- Assist in the investigation and formal reporting of incidents involving injury, near miss, damage to plant and equipment or environment harm and ensure that appropriate and timely action is initiated to prevent recurrence as per the Managing Incident Reports Process Flow Chart
- Ensure event notifications and reporting of events into the relevant portals
- Plant Inspections with EPCM Area Managers (New to site and quarterly)
- Site Walk Arounds/Site Inspections on a regular basis
- Review JHA’s
- Assist in the establishment and maintenance of Project document filing system in Sharepoint.
- Identify work activities which have the potential for significant (material harm) impact on the environment and ensure they are planned and executed to minimise risk to the environment;
- Facilitate the dissemination of health safety environment information to all project personnel;
- Ensure that HSE deficiencies identified in project inspections and audits, incidents, inspection and test procedures, appraisal of work practices and product delivery and use are corrected in a timely manager to prevent recurrence;
- Participate in the resolution of any disputes which may arise over project health safety environment issues;
- Participate in the implementation of site HSE Initiatives.
- Participate and contribute to site Fatality Prevention Program
- Participate and contribute to site HSE Forums.
- Provide guidance to contractors on Safety Alerts.
- Monthly reporting and review of Contractor Weekly Reports to get hours worked.
- Provide verification of competency if qualified and/or authorized to do so.
- Monitor and analyse site traffic, driving management and traveller risk profiles activity in the portal
- Assisting EPCM and Contractors achieve agreed KPIs.
- Experience as an HSE Advisor within the construction industry.
- A recognized Health & Safety and / or Environment qualification.
- Experience on a mine site desirable
- A strong knowledge of the relevant HSE legislation and standards.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to show leadership in the field and be able to influence behaviours, particularly of contracting partners.
