Job Title: Hull Delivery Manager

Overview:

The Hull Delivery Manager will lead the defining, tendering of the Hull Fabrication contract and then manage the design, procurement, fabrication, installation, and support commissioning and start up to handover to integration yard. Hull Delivery Manager shall have the overall accountability for Mechanical Completion and delivery of the Hull in accordance with the Hull Integration plan & heavy lift schedule. Responsible for managing the Project Team consisting of Project Engineers and matrix organization functional team to ensure efficient execution of hull construction while working closely with the shipyard and equipment manufacturers to determine the production schedule for the project and make any necessary adjustments, monitor progress, and report status to management.

Coordination of Hull Strategic partners, prime Sub-contracts & major equipment suppliers. Overall accountability for consistency in the design, construction, quality, safety and completion of Hull modules and Structures across all Strategic partners and sub-contractors. Accountable for direct reporting of Schedule, Progress and all Hull issues and concerns to the FPSO Project Manager.

The Hull Delivery Manager will be responsible for the budget, the time frame and completing the project with the production of a high-quality HULL, while meeting all company QHSSE Policy and operational requirements. Responsible for the job execution and wellbeing of the people in the project team, while they are stationed at the shipyards during the construction phase.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent marine engineering expertise with at least 8 years of managing a team.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Hull meets all Design Specifications in accordance with class, technical requirements and project objectives.
  • Manage technical documentation, field layouts, and specifications for the Hull.
  • Interface with the Topsides Delivery Manager group to ensure the Hull/ FPSO meets long term customer requirements.
  • Manage co-location of the Hull site teams with DSIC Contractor’s project execution teams.
  • Manage Hull engineering and fabrication activities at all engineering and fabrication sites in project loactions (including verseas.
  • Ensure Hull meets all technical requirements and project objectives.
  • Monitors work being executed against the baseline schedule and budgets.
  • Able to adapt to a dynamic environment, while simultaneously maintaining a cohesive schedule, safety integrity for all activities and meeting established cost objectives.
  • Identifies required team composition for Project Team as well as provides input to the Matrix functional support teams composition.
  • Efficiently orchestrates all company and subcontractors labor to ensure schedule and cost expectations are met.
  • Ensures weekly status accurately depicts percent complete, remaining labor and material costs.
  • Leads team to effectively identify services needed before task execution.
  • Maintains effective working relationships across the functional team, prime contractor and subcontractors.
  • Prepares and presents monthly Executive Review which accurately portray project status, issues with mitigation plans, financial health, schedule compliance and opportunity in addition to identifying areas that indicate signs of risk to the project’s success.
  • Oversees the preparation of Scopes of Work and subsequent bidder selection under the governance of assigned procurement resources.
  • Pursues and anticipates emergent work items and associated tasking.
  • Meets daily with the project team, to review open issues, actions required in support of cost and schedule, identifying and tracking items which may impact cost and or schedule.
  • Monitors housekeeping standards and assigns areas of responsibilities, Compliance to PPE requirements, safe behaviour as appropriate to company Life Saving Rules. Works with Contractor on areas outside of responsibilities to ensure a safe working environment for all.
  • Create and disseminate Post Delivery Information/Lessons Learned to the appropriate personnel allowing for real time corrections on other new construction projects.
  • Practices awareness of the bigger picture while reinforcing the meticulous execution of project specific items.
  • Oversee the yard contract execution through handover to integration yard and closure of shipyard contract.
  • Ensure that all Hull project documentation (final As built) is completed.
