Our client, a major oil and gas operator in Papua New Guinea, is looking for a suitable candidate for their IST - Data & Business Apps role for their Port Moresby office.

- Work closely with Business Entities to analyze and translate business needs and processes to technical specifications for Business Intelligence and process automation-related subjects.
- Support in the application development using Microsoft 365 tools (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)
- Provide support and troubleshoot application and data connectivity issues.
- Responsible for performance and optimal access to existing local Data Source
- Demonstrates personal commitment to the HSE Policy
- Ensures compliance with all relevant Statutory and Company HSE standards and Company Management Stem documents
- Actively participates in Company safety awareness and initiative schemes.
- Adapts to changes in work practices and job activities.
- Acts in the best interest of the Company at all times.
- Adheres to the values and principles of the Company Code of Conduct at all times
- Connecting data sources, importing data, and transforming data for Business Intelligence
- Design, build and deploy BI solutions (e.g., reporting tools, dashboarding) that are aligned with group strategy.
- Technical implementation regarding internal or external solutions manipulating Local Data
- Ensure efficient and reliable technical platform usage and support key users
- Master and use Business Intelligence tools, bringing added value to the business.
- Ensure all applications and solutions developed are in compliance with the Company Rules
- Ensure the respect and implementation of all technical standards regarding data and digital solutions development.
- Develop and update technical documentation.
- Discover and test/implement technologies that yield competitive advantage
- Languages: Good knowledge of English spoken & written
- +2 years of Data Science and IT-related studies
- +5 years’ experience in IT-related positions with a strong emphasis on data mining, analysis, and reporting
- Strong knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office365, SharePoint, and Power Platforms (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Query, Power Shell).
- Good knowledge of RDBMS, data modeling, and software development life cycle
- Technical proficiency in data sources, data models, techniques for data mining, and segmentation
- IT Service Management: knowledge of the ITIL fundamentals
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, written and verbal, combined with effective technical presentation skills, the ability to coordinate activities between teams.
