Airswift has been tasked by one of our major Oil and Gas clients to seek an Inspector for Suppliers’ Manufacturing to work in their facilities located in Lyon, France.

Job summary:
Depending on the Expediting & Inspection Levels, Inspector is in charge to perform shop activities at Vendor’s and main sub-vendor’s workshops in the name or on behalf of the Client, verifying the Supply conformity against the Contractual requirements in terms of delivery date and manufacturing quality.
She/he reports operationally to the Project Vendor Performance Coordinator and may directly supervises payroll expeditors/inspectors or 3rd Party Agencies.
The Key interactions (internally and externally) are with Suppliers, 3rd Party Agencies, Notifying Authorities, Clients, Procurement (incl. Vendor Performance Management (VPM)), Engineering and Quality.
The role and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Receives NOI's and confirm his/her attendance
- Participates or conducts Pre-Inspection Meeting and issues dedicated Minutes Of Meeting
- Confirms shop visit plan based on ITP prepared by Engineer, and proposes an alternative plan, if necessary
- Be responsible to verify in due time that all documents necessary for the inspection have been received and found adequate for the purpose
- Conducts witness/hold inspections and quality control monitoring according to the codes and specifications applicable
- Verifies manufacturer’s inspections and tests by reviewing the records and certificates
- Endorse the surveillance of QC activities by signing FQCP upon each phase completion
- Verifies and comments overall fabrication schedule
- Monitor and ensure the proper Supply execution until fulfillment of contractual delivery Date. Verifies and comments Vendor’s / main sub-Vendor’s progress by physically checking at Vendor’s / main sub-Vendor’s premises
- Timely convey all necessary documentation and information to Agency Inspector when applicable
- Issues Expediting and Inspection reports, Release Note, Punch List and NC Reports
- Provides timely support and information to Transport Coordinator, continuing monitoring the supply implementation up to the readiness of material for shipment
- Highlights any potential critical paths/events that might cause a shifting of delivery date, requesting the Vendor to implement adequate corrective actions, ensuring the necessary follow up of the actions settled
- Verifies completion of corrective works, according to the approved disposition plan for the non-conformance
- Verifies in progress compilation and completeness of Manufacturing Data Record Book (MDRB) by signing
- Signs on IRN (Hard copy) at Vendor shop when the inspector witnesses final inspection at Vendor shop
- Performs a close follow-up of Punch List status till closure of all pending points
- Contributes to preparation of Supplier’s and Agencies’ performances evaluation
- Highlights any SHES issues at Vendor workshops
Must have as a minimum:
- High School Degree with large experience or bachelor’s degree in mechanical/Rotating
- 5 years of past experiences in quality control activities at workshop
- Strong manufacturing knowledge of Suppliers for Rotating Equipment or oil & gas packages
- Strong knowledge of Standards related to her/his specialty
- Abilities to anticipate and coordinate activities under pressure
- Excellent written skills
- Operational English
- Strong mobility and leadership attitude (e.g. feedback formalization for method improvement)

- Technical certifications (NDT, Painting, Welding….)
