Electro-Mechanical Technician
Martinsville, VA

Position Summary
This position is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of CNC based production equipment including the building and utilities to meet business requirements. The electro-mechanical technician installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains instrument equipment in accordance with manufacturer's or site specifications. This position is a day shift job with occasional unplanned or short-notice schedule changes.

  • Job Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintain CNC based production equipment
  • Maintain records, blueprints, and other documents of the facilities
  • Perform work assignments that could require additional training
  • Perform all specified safety practices as described in the Job Safety Analysis procedures
  • Perform industry best practices regarding mechanical repairs
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, written instructions, manufacturer's manuals, procedures and specifications
  • Perform all aspects of building maintenance including recognizing problem areas and identifying the support needed to correct the problem
  • Coordinate inspections and maintain records for regulatory compliance
  • Required Skills and Experience
  • Must have completed at least 65 education credit hours in industrial maintenance field or comparable field pertaining to industrial machinery and diagnostics and repair with coursework in industrial electricity
  • Minimum 2 years maintenance and/or reliability experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Valid driver license


Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance Technician
  • Experience with troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining CNC equipment and circuitry
  • Experience with circuit board and component repairs
  • Experience with Fanuc PLC's
  • 3 or more years facilities maintenance experience with chillers, air handlers, humidifiers, air compressors, boilers, etc.
  • Experience with NFPA 70E
  • NEC Masters License


Other Considerations

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States, without company sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Must have the ability to move about a plant structure, including steps, ladders, elevated platforms, and confined spaces; be able to work outside, and capable of lifting and moving up to 50 pounds infrequently
  • Must have the ability to wear any or all of the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): safety glasses, hearing protection, goggles, hard hats, Nomex, acid suits, gloves, safety footwear, and respirators. PPE use is in accordance with the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for a given task
  • Must have the ability to work under the following conditions: confined spaces and inclement weather
