About our client:

Oil Search was established in Papua New Guinea in 1929 and is the country's largest oil producer and private employer. Over 95% of its assets are in PNG, where it holds oil and gas production and exploration licences plus a 29% interest in the US$19 billion PNG LNG Project. This world class liquefied natural gas (LNG) development, which delivered its first LNG sales in May 2014, has quadrupled Oil Search's production and transformed the Company into a major LNG exporter.

About the role:

The procurement team are now in a position to expand their team to accommodate an Inventory Management Specialist. Based in Sydney you will be required to interface extensively across the business.


  • Develop and roll out a cataloguing policy including training to all end users.
  • Ensure all business readiness activities are captured and actioned in preparation to SAP implementation.
  • Review ROP/ROQ across all items and provide recommendations to adjust replenishment settings.
  • Work with Production and Drilling to develop demand forecasts to ensure proper service levels.
  • Lead vendor held stock and consignment projects across a number of commodities.
  • Monitor Inventory KPIs and develop action plans to close gap with agreed targets.

Required experience

  • 5+ years on Inventory Management focused on Oil and Gas or Heavy Industries.
  • Tertiary qualifications (Engineering/Business Admin/Accounting)
  • SAP (preferred)
  • Start date ASAP

This role is offered on local conditions only with the point of hire being Australia. It is essential you hold relevant working rights for Australia/NZ to be considered for this role.
