Our client is seeking a Land Analyst to work on a 4-months assignment to work within their office in Houston, TX. Client is seeking local candidates only.

Job Responsibilities

  • Research land files to determine contractual obligations and rights concerning option and settlement agreements, contracts, and related lease agreements
  • Review of title abstracts, curative and clearance activities, and key lease agreement provisions (agreements, ROW, easements, join operation agreements, farm-out/farm-in agreements, etc)
  • Create land related reports and exhibits
  • Prepare land agreements and conveyance instruments
  • Collect and analyze data for quarterly reporting , contract obligations and payments
  • Analyze, implement, and maintain terms and payments for lease, and contractual agreements
  • With minimal supervision: responsible for planning, controlling and directing real estate activities such as site location and acquisition recommendations to management, right-of-way negotiation, land acquisition and disposition, land management, and maintenance of properties to support site development
  • Research private and public records, determine ownership, mineral leases, etc. - analyze and interpret legal documents
  • Analyze, review, interpret and set up surface agreements, right-of-ways, company owned property, and other legal documents in Company Land System
  • Maintains and analyzes changes to existing surface agreements, company owned property, land contracts, and other legal documents in Company Land System
  • Assist with special projects and other assignments as required
  • Support staff to ensure proper record administration


  • 5-10 years of experience
  • Background working in Oil & Gas
  • Acquisition and condemnation experience
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Have a working knowledge of real estate practices, procedures, and terminology
  • Have a working knowledge of principles of real estate and right of way acquisition, including state and federal laws pertaining to real estate and/or right of way acquisition
  • Have a working knowledge of real estate appraisal principles and procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of land department and organization procedures with frequent and varied use of business, legal and technical terminology relating to the industry
