The Position & Experience Required:
We are looking for an established professional to join our team as a Metallurgist and Welding Engineer to be responsible for the specification, monitoring and advising on all material, metallurgical, fabrication and welding aspects involved in the Engineering, Design and Construction of Oil & Gas installations.
You will apply discipline knowledge to support SBM office and clients to ensure industry standards are met with and your responsibilities will include; product approvals, specification development, specialist technical advice and failure investigations.

  • Completed Engineering degree in Materials or associated Engineering discipline for example:

B.Eng (Hons), Metallurgy, Materials etc
ESSA Ecole Superieure du Soudage et de ses Applications
Ecole Polytechnique de nantes (material speciality)

  • 5+ year(s) of professional experience in metallurgy and welding in engineering, design and construction
  • International Welding Engineer diploma (IWE) or European Welding Engineer diploma (EWE) and/or Chartered Engineer (UK) are desirable.
  • You have a dynamic and charismatic personality, who enjoys cross-discipline collaboration with engineers and designers.
  • You are a self-motived, organizational and communicative person with a strong passion for personal and professional development.
  • Adaptable and able to work under pressure.
  • You are fluent or at a professional level in English.
  • Must be permitted to work in the EU
