Our client, a major oil and gas company, is seeking a Portfolio Analyst to work within their facilities in Edmonton, Alberta

You will be responsible for providing guidance for the standard project management methodology and direct support to other ePMO portfolio advisors, project managers, business sponsors and TIS management regarding project and portfolio performance across the enterpris. As well as guiding technical projects as well as building and maintaining associated tools and resources, including but not limited to:

  • SharePoint workspaces and workflow
  • Power BI Dashboards
  • Automated tools and forms

This role will advise on the following ePMO functions:

  • Records Management - Ensure the Records & Information Management governance suite (including the Records Retention Schedule) remains in line with legal, regulatory and business requirements and is implemented across enterprise. This includes the ongoing consultation and integration of RIM requirements into existing business practices and governance assessments to ensure compliance in key areas
  • Mergers, Acquisitions & Divestures - Ensures records and information are identified, received or transferred between organizations in an efficient manner in accordance the RIM governance suite and the binding contracts between both parties. This includes the training of each integration team and supporting the transfer of records both electronically and physically where required
  • Governance Compliance - Ensure Records and Information Management compliance is built and sustained in key governance compliance areas including IMS (Integrated Management System), TRA (Threat Risk Assessment), Project Management methodology, Cyber Security, Internal Audit Assessments, etc.
  • People Management - Manage key resources within the RIM department, fostering a strong team driven to seek continuous improvement opportunities in both themselves, their peers, business partners and processes
  • Organizational Change Management - Manage resources that address the people side of change management to help people feel engaged in the change process and work collectively towards common objectives, realizing benefits and deliverables
  • Relationship Management - Engage with business stakeholders, internal TIS partners, directors, VPs in all companies to drive value and compliance
  • Financial Management - Ensure accurate forecasting and accounting of costs across the Strategy, Policy and Program teams including the submitting and tracking monthly performance ensuring that SPP remains below established financial targets
  • This role impacts all staff within TIS and therefore the incumbent is required to rigorously reinforce the values of Safety, Respect and Integrity and promote a culture of professionalism and compliance.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Promote, assure, and continuously improve the standard ePMO processes
  • Coordinate the production of monthly project status reports, ensuring they meet quality standards
  • Provide project portfolio analysis and presents monthly updates to each TIS VP within specific portfolio accountabilities
  • Create monthly portfolio metrics and trending information
  • Work with stakeholders to understand project risks and issues to drive improved project delivery
  • Support annual and ongoing portfolio management processes
  • Analyze interface and dependence across the portfolio, recommends appropriate actions where there are anomalies or concerns
  • Develop and maintain project tools and templates
  • Maintain the ePMO client-facing SharePoint site, including the portfolio
  • Assist with ePMO communication and training activities
  • Develop and updates onboarding of new Project Managers and Business Sponsors
  • Supports the PM Community of Practice
