Our client, a major company within the Oil & Gas industry, is seeking two Protected Species Observers, for a 10-day assignment to work offshore part-time in the Guyana, to work on the collection and analysis of environmental samples and data.
Tasks and Responsbilities:
- Required to act as the Protected Species Observer (PSO) during the seismic operations.
- The PSO shall be the individual who keeps watch for mammals during seismic operations.
Skills and qualifications:
- The PSO shall be an individual with a minimum of five years of field experience in the collection of environmental samples and data who has knowledge of sampling, testing, and classification techniques, industry SSH&E standards, environmental sampling equipment, operations, company reporting requirements, and an awareness of company operation integrity management system (OIMS) procedures, and has demonstrated skills and effective communications, interface management, auditing and assessing operations, and problem solving.
- This individual must be trained at observing and identifying marine mammals in compliance with the most recent Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC) guidelines.
