Our client, one of the world's leading integrated oil and gas companies, is seeking someone for the Senior Planner Scheduler position to work within their facilities located in Whiting, IN.

This professional will be providing services in support of the Mid-Cap Capital Projects. The candidate will be required to learn and follow the company's guidelines for schedule development. Must handle multiple projects throughout the various stages of the WPT Capital Value Program. In addition to developing project schedules, the candidate will also be responsible for schedule assurance and monthly reporting on assigned projects.

The candidate will report to the company's Capital Projects Planning and Scheduling Lead and under the oversight of the Manager of Project Services. The Senior Planner/Scheduler will also interface with the third-party contractors that support the Project Teams, and understand how to build and maintain an organized, integrated capital project schedule using CPM, resource loading, baselining, coding, and cost accounts.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collect required information to initiate a plan/schedule process (Including; scopes of work, estimates, job notes, work list, drawings)
  • Contribute to development of new techniques and standards
  • Develops processes that require innovation and ingenuity
  • Performed under general direction and guidelines; has some latitude in determining objectives and best approach to assignments.
  • Communicates appropriately with internal and external personnel as needed.
  • Plans and prepares production schedules
  • Translates orders into a sequential work schedule through using analyzes specifications and mathematical calculations to determine production processes, tools, and human resource requirements
  • Develop the plan to logically execute a project with appropriate engineering and field supervision
  • Develop durations and resources needed to execute the project in a timely fashion
  • Drive and facilitate interactive planning sessions
  • Participate in schedule analysis sessions (and lead, where possible)
  • Produce planning/scheduling reports as directed
  • Monitor progress through engineering and in the field, and update the plan/schedule
  • Monitor craft hours spent and earned, analyze productivity and its impact on the project duration
  • Analyze the updated plan/schedule and communicate potential downstream problems which may impact the successful completion of a project
  • Walk the field on a regular basis
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
  • Utilizes critical path analysis and what-if scenarios to fully support the project team.
  • Support the change management during planning/scheduling and analyze impact on the project
