Our client, an Oil and Gas Operating Company are looking for a Social Investment Manager to be based in their offices in Equatorial Guinea. The role is offered on a long term contract basis with a negotiable daily rate.

Job Overview:

As Social Investment Manager you'll be responsible for managing and providing strategic advice for planning and implementation of all Social Investment activities across the business

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver SI program in EG to enable business objectives and maintain social license to operate.
  • Manage in Country SI Strategy and program. This includes the active management of SI delivery contractor, and the EG government on the implementation of the social investment and training programmes.
  • Facilitate implementation of activities relating to the annual Training Budget for SONAGAS and MMH, according to the Cooperation Agreement.
  • Build trust and credibility in engagement with assigned stakeholders in EG for SI and Training program in country.
  • Manage and organize the in-Country office in Malabo including logistical requirements and maintain constant vigilance to ensure that contractors consistently perform in strict adherence to General Business Principles, in particular Code of Conduct, HSSE (Health, Safety, Security and Environment) policies, controls and full compliance with EG legislation.
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings and engagements with Government officials.
  • Monitor country economic, social and political environment.
  • Be an ambassador for the SI program among local stakeholders by keeping them informed of progress/changes.
  • Provide timely warning to EG Country Chair and other functions in the Company (mainly SP) of any new development in EG that could impact presence or the implementation of the SI or Training program.
  • Prepare and deliver communications material and presentations in relation to the SI program for internal/external use

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Ideally have a degree within a relevant subject along with relevant social investment experience, with proven track record in engagement with stakeholders and development/delivery of SI programs.
  • Good presentation skills and able to develop plans, schedules and budget proposals.
  • Engage and communicate effectively at a variety of levels - from senior managers to Country stakeholders (representatives of government and local authorities, universities, industry, bi-lateral and multilateral institutions).
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge about HSSE and Compliance
  • Fluent spoken/written English and Spanish.
