Wells Operations Supervisor - Contract Day Rate - Queensland (FIFO)


Our client is seeking a Wells Operations Supervisor to safely and efficiently manage well/rig site operations and lead field personnel to deliver the business objectives, in full compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.


Key Accountabilities:
Deliver continuous performance improvement by efficient management of site resources and use of best practices in delivery of the well programme.
Ensure that all activities by site personnel are coordinated and in compliance with permit to work and change control procedures.
Ensure the drilling/workover unit and all associated systems are managed and operated within their prescribed envelope.
Inspect well site prior to rig move to ensure that access and necessary earthworks are in place.
Coordinate and communicate with off-site personnel and resources to manage programme changes and deliver business objectives.

Interface:
Develop the site team and coach individuals to enhance their contribution to performance.
Build team spirit and morale through inclusive behaviour and respect for diversity.
Ensure that site team members have clarity about the objectives of the operation and their role in delivering these.
Role model and champion the Company's values and behaviours and provide clear leadership and direction with respect to the day to day operational activities.
Assess the experience and competence of contractor's personnel and feedback via the reporting line if deficiencies are identified.
Ensure a full team are in place to deliver all phases of the operation.

Essential Experience:
The role demands strong leadership skills and integrity. The candidate will have demonstrated a natural and unforced leadership style with strong motivation and excellent communication skills at all levels.
Will be expected to draw a balance between command and control (in emergency situations) together with an empowered approach to operational and people management.
You will also require the capability to manage and resolve operational problems and to have a clear grasp of the objectives of the operation from a business perspective.
Wells Operations Supervisor will have a minimum of 10 + years of drilling / workover experience at a supervisory level.

Skillset / Knowledge:
IWCF Supervisory level - surface Well Control
Computer literacy skills for reporting
Knowledge of Permit to work systems
Cert IV in Work Place Health and Safety
Experience with CSG Drilling or workover operations.
