Are you ready to join our team as a Lab Sampling Technician? We are seeking a skilled individual to support our operations in Christina Lake, Alberta, Canada. As a Lab Sampling Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our plant processes through sampling and analysis.

Role Overview

  • Perform routine and non-routine lab sampling throughout the plant site, field, and off sites
  • Support lab operation, safety, and environmental systems
  • Troubleshoot plant process/sampling issues
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of applicable prescribed software and programs
  • Look for and lead efforts to improve processes and procedures related to position
  • Perform routine and non-routine chemical and physical analysis as requested/required
  • Data entry as needed
  • Sample login into SampleManager
  • Communicate with Operations on plant issues impacting sampling and safety
  • Ensure proper safety protocols are in place and practiced
  • Identify issues that impact safety, environment, and/or production
  • Report any safety issues and contribute to ideas for improvement
  • Act as shipping champion for Lab group, ensuring TDG requirements are met
  • Clean sampling containers (cylinders) to prevent contamination
  • Train new Field Lab Technicians on sampling protocols and procedures
  • Ensure proper communication and documentation with cross shift

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of sampling and analysis techniques
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 Drivers License
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders and co-workers
  • Self-awareness and learning agility to continuously improve performance
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Mechanically inclined with industry exposure (asset)

Education & Experience

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • High school education or equivalent
