Airswift has been tasked by one of it’s major clients to look for a Lab Specialist to work on a 1-year contract in Pasadena, TX.
The Lab Specialist's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining local area instrumentation including routine maintenance and SQC
- Managing laboratory data for the local area.
- Providing technical support and training for crude oil testing to process technicians in the local area.
- Performing laboratory analysis (primarily crude oil testing) for custody quality measurement and product quality control.
- Communicates any problems, discrepancies or other noteworthy incidents to the supervisor or internal customer without delay.
- Supports and participates in safety programs and meetings
- Demonstrates a high level of integrity in all business dealings
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry is required.
- 5+ years extensive industry experience with crude oil testing methods, including ICP metals analysis, high-temperature simulated distillation, and other methods commonly used analysis of crude oil samples, is required in lieu of degree.
- Experience with Wet Chemistry, API, ASTM, and UOP test methods in the crude oil industries.
- SQC experience in a laboratory environment, supporting charts, and issue identification.
- Laboratory Information Management Systems experience (Labworks preferred).
- Must have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record is required.
- Must possess basic computer skills and proficient in MS Office applications including spreadsheet and word processing.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time is required, normally not overnight.
