Our client, a major Oil & Gas Company is seeking a Land Advisor to work within their facilities located in Houston, TX for a 12-month contract (possible to extend).

Working with the Business Development, Land & Commercial Marketing department, and responding to the Land Manager, this professional will assist the US Land-related activities handling relatively complex land assignments with limited supervision.

  • Assists Land AFE Coordinator with approval of AFEs (internal and outside operated AFE’s) and maintain electronic and/or written files. Assists with sending company generated AFEs to partners of jointly owned properties and tracking AFE approvals and responses.
  • Handle all surplus requests, public transmittals and meeting invitations received on non-operated fields.
  • Assist with all MSG requirements and Anti-Corruption Due Diligence matters.
  • Attend internal and external meetings with Land Manager, as needed.
  • Assist in negotiations, drafting and incorporating comments in “Land” type agreements both internally and with other companies, i.e., farmouts/farmins, joint ventures, operating agreements, production handling agreements, rig sharing agreements, bidding agreements, etc.
  • Interact with Exploration, Production, Development, Finance, HSE/Regulatory, Drilling and Reservoir teams.
  • Process miscellaneous consents and requests to/from JV partners.
  • Assist Land Manager on any and all projects as needed.
  • Maintain membership in land associations and attend meetings, workshops and seminars.
Skills Required:
  • Minimum 4-year college degree.
  • Minimum 5 years of offshore Gulf of Mexico experience as Landman required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good negotiation and attention to details skills.
  • Interacts on all levels with teams within the US organization, Joint Venture partners, State and Federal Agencies
  • Health Safety and Environment Risk Category: Low
