Large Capital Project Controls Manager

Our client seeks a Project Team Lead – Mechanical for their client in Kwinana, on offer is an initial 12 month contract.

The role will entail overall accountability for the successful delivery of the project/multiple projects including:

• Applying and integrating the project management processes of initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing.
• Lead the project team to deliver project in accordance with Alcoa’s standards, procedures, and guidelines.
• Effective coordination of multiple stakeholders (mainly plant operations) and healthy client relationships throughout the project phase
• Pro-active resolution of performance, scope, cost, and schedule issues with the Client as they arise
• Coordination and interface management with Vendors, Implementation Contractors and other third parties to ensure projects are executed in a safe, efficient, cost effective and timely manner
• Identify scope changes/developments and apply Change Management processes when required.
• Analyse weekly cost and schedule progress reporting and be able to communicate clear assessment of performance to client-side management team.
• Coordinate with the Construction Team and monitors safety, environment, cost, schedule and quality for each construction package.

About you:

• Previous experience at Alcoa Alumina Refineries (desirable)
• Previous experience in the mining, minerals and metals industry is essential
• 10+ years engineering experience, including 5 years of relevant supervisory, project management and/or technical experience; E, EP project experience
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering

One of our major clients in the Mining & Metals industry is looking for an Underground?Heavy Duty Mechanic for a one-year contract to work in Lac de Gras (Northern Territories of Canada). There is a huge possibility to extend the contract for another year since the project will go on until 2026.

The client is offering Fly-in/Fly-out from Edmonton/Yellowknife/Fort Smith to Nunavut, BC (Northern Territories of Canada - area where Lac de Gras is located).

If you don’t have Underground experience but worked as a Heavy Duty Mechanic you could suit the role as well. You only need to have experience with Atlas Mining and/or Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology equipment.

We are looking for a Heavy Duty Mechanic with Underground experience that will be responsible for repairing heavy mining equipment in a safe, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective manner to ensure equipment availability is maximized.

Responsibilities

• Perform cost-effective, safe, and environmentally friendly repairs to maximize equipment availability.
• The incumbent will be working on but not limited to Epiroc MT6020 haul trucks, Boltecs, Simbas, Jumbos, autonomous ST14 scoop trams, ST1530, ST18 scoop trams, Normet shotcrete sprayers, transmixers, etc.
• The mine is primarily Epiroc equipment.
• Fill out the work orders and reports on repairs and diagnoses prior to the end of each shift.
• Provide sufficient detail about repairs so that others can understand what work has been done on the equipment.
• Keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards continuously.
• Conduct safety audits as per company policy.
• Provide written reports to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor as requested.
• Adhere to safety and environmental rules and contribute to safety and productivity by constructively participating in safety meetings and incident investigations.
• Conduct equipment reviews to ensure new and existing equipment meets site safety and operational requirements.
• Assist other tradespersons to achieve Maintenance goals as required.
• Help develop Heavy Duty Mechanic apprentices including delegating tasks or projects that will assist with their skill development and meet apprenticeship requirements.

• Journeyperson certification as a Heavy Duty Mechanic.
• Interprovincial Red Seal certification.
• Understanding of the NWT Mines Act.
• Familiarity with new technologies and equipment (e.g., Cat SIS, Cummins Insight, etc.).
• Ability to maintain and repair industrial equipment.
• Proven oral, written, and active listening skills and ability to work in high-stress situations and resolve issues.

• 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off (first week: dayshift, second week: nightshift).

• Current St. John’s Ambulance Standard First Aid Certificate with CPR.
• Training on the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).

Senior Environmental Engineer

We are hiring on behalf of a multinational chemicals manufacturer. The company has been investing extensively in CAPEX projects to reach the goal to double production.

The Senior Environmental Engineer will be fundamental for this goal, ensuring regulatory compliance and executing permitting applications for the Refinery's air permitting program.

Responsabilites

• Leading and providing technical direction to the site’s direction and guidance on the Refinery air permitting program.
• Providing competency and expertise in State and Federal air quality regulatory programs, including NSR, PSD, Permit by Rule, Title V, NSPS and NESHAP.
• Working closely with refinery operation teams to understand specific processes and develop an appropriate air permitting and compliance strategy.
• Performing emission calculations, completing air permit applications, compliance reporting and determine regulatory requirements.
• Supporting reporting and recordkeeping as required by air permits, regulations or company policy.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of existing and proposed air permitting regulations.

• Environmental Management System (EMS) Audits – experience in conducting EMS audits in accordance with ISO 14001 (2004) and (2015).
• Must be able to correlate system-based auditing with performance-based auditing through root cause analysis.
• BA/BS in environmental science, chemistry or biology, plus a minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience.
