Lead Mechanical Engineer – Kwinana, WA


Our client is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to work within their facilities in Kwinana, WA on a 12-month initial contract.

Start Date: Negotiable
Employment Type: 12-month initial contract
Location: Kwinana, WA
Working Schedule: Mon – Fri, 8-hour days

Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join their high-performing team on a refinery project located south of Perth. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering mechanical engineering services to the project, ensuring that the project scope, cost and schedule requirements are met and provide supervision and guidance to junior engineers.

Responsibilities:
  • Gain a thorough understanding of project requirements related to scope, cost, and schedule.
  • Manage and review all Engineering Work Packages (EWP) for associated deliverables.
  • Review and approve all mechanical technical deliverables.
  • Assist in developing project-specific procedures, tools, software, and relevant codes and standards.
  • Initiate, manage, and supervise mechanical engineering project requirements as needed.
  • Proactively resolve any discrepancies between the client and its customer's requirements.
  • Identify and solve issues, asking for assistance when necessary.
  • Participate in and contribute to design reviews.
  • Liaise with clients as necessary.
  • Mentor junior team members.
     
What you will bring:
  • Recognised bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
    Previous experience in the mining, process plant, and chemical industry preferred.
  • Possess highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate, and timely work.
  • Have a sound knowledge of fundamental mechanical engineering requirements and other engineering fields.
  • Knowledgeable of local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Competent in using mechanical engineering specific software.
