Overview
As a leading global provider of engineering, procurement and construction management expertise to the energy, chemicals, and resources sectors we are proud to be in a position to expand our team in Denmark and have partnered with Airswift to support our recruitment plans in 2023.

We are currently recruiting for a LEAD MECHANICAL ENGINEER to support the Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) - Host FEED project. The successful individual(s) will be engaged on a contract basis, with an initial contract duration of 12 months, and the option for further contract renewals to follow.

Role Context
We have made a firm commitment to support the energy transition, and central to this is delivering on renewable energy generation. In order to facilitate this business level initiative, we are rapidly expanding our capabilities within the low carbon, green hydrogen and Energy Transition sectors. Our broader ambitions in this space extend from early-stage concept and feasibility through to delivering full EPC and EPCI packages.

This role will manage and deliver engineering scopes to a PMC project which is currently being delivered in Denmark and will require regular travel to vendor sites in Milan, Italy. This exciting opportunity will be delivering sustainability as part of our business strategy and ambition.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring the mechanical team is suitably resourced for planned objectives
  • Providing assurance to the Project Engineering Manager and Client Engineer that all aspects engineering within the mechanical discipline have been carried to an acceptable standard
  • Liaising with other engineering disciplines to ensure best practice is applied to the engineering of the project and to ensure compliance to project specifications and standards
  • Reviewing and approval of designs and check / approval of engineering deliverables
  • Undertaking technical bid evaluations, where required
  • Thinking creatively and logically to resolve design and development problems
  • Identifying of risks in the workplace, site and design work being undertaken
  • Considering the environmental, commercial, safety and operational aspects of design
  • Managing change and identifying, formalising and notifying relevant parties of changes in the project
  • Communicating and liaising with colleagues, subcontractors, vendors and clients
  • Estimating and the management of budgets, schedule and quality of projects
  • Driving, control and schedule of workshare using global integrated delivery (GID)

Technical and Industry Experience Required
  • Excellent technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work.
  • Excellent knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the mechanical engineering, and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
  • Excellent knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory specifications.
  • Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and mechanical engineering specific software.
  • Extensive technical and practical experience in mechanical engineering in the same or similar industry including experience in working in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training
  • A recognized and relevant engineering degree.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications in engineering; management, project management or supervisory qualifications or equivalent.
