We are working with our client based in Qatar to source a Lead of Piping / Mechanical.

This is residential contract to be based in Qatar.


Minimum Experience:
  • Higher Qualification in Mechanical Engineering [Piping / Equipment]
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in the field of piping / mechanical equipment for EPC stage in the oil and gas industry.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in offshore safety culture.
  • Extensive offshore experience and knowledge in offshore piping and equipment codes and standards
  • Able to work in offshore environment for extensive period / rotation as job dictate

Job Purpose:
  • Lead the execution oversight and hook-up of the offshore piping and mechanical equipment on site encompassing installation and welding of exotic pipework (CRA, inconel, stainless steels) and installation of key equipment. To ensure the highest level of safety and compliance during execution.
  • Oversee EPC Contractor's piping and equipment hook-up activities including validation of execution with full compliance to project specifications and procedures.
  •  Provide input where required to the EPC Contractors execution strategy and procedures.
  •  Identify offshore risks and synergies to minimise impact to the RFSU dates.
  • Endorsement of offshore permits as required for execution.
  • Interface with the Company Discipline Specialist and Project Management Team (PMT) to support site queries ensuring compliance with the project scope with emphasis on safety, integrity and reliability.
  • Participate in workshops as required such as Schedule, Execution, Risk Assessments and HAZOP workshops.
  • Participate in offshore risk screening, PTW meetings and OIM meetings as required.
  • Provide technical and execution reviews of the project piping and mechanical equipment related execution deliverables with respect to compliance to Company engineering standards, procedures, and best practices.
