About the role

As a Lead Piping Engineer, you will be responsible for determining methods and solutions for complex engineering problems and select the most efficient and economical manner for meeting objectives. You should apply advanced engineering techniques and analysis. You must be fully conversant in the profession and proficient in the utilization of current engineering theories and practices.  You may serve as a technical consultant in an area of specialty and may provide discipline supervision for one larger or one or more smaller projects.

Location: Perth

Indicative Term of Contract: 12 months

 

Requirements:

  • Senior-level role with extensive expertise in engineering, regulations, and project leadership.
  • Holds a technical degree and is licensed where required.
  • EPC/EPCM background
  • Strong background in discipline-specific work, cost estimating, and proposal writing.
  • Ability to manage a team of up to 10 engineers or designers, review work, and handle performance evaluations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and specialized engineering software.
  • Committed to health, safety, and environmental performance throughout project lifecycles.

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support business development by maintaining an updated resume, building relationships with customers and contractors, and assisting with proposals (strategy, costing, content).
  • Manage team resources, ensuring coverage during absences, mentoring, and supporting training. Participate in performance reviews and facilitate team transitions.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Standardize specifications, drawings, and documents, and contribute to the technical knowledge base.
  • Help with project execution by meeting scope, cost, and time requirements, and coordinating with other disciplines to ensure project success.
  • Conduct engineering analyses, create recommendations, and finalize project documents. Review work from team members and address technical queries.
  • Develop equipment and material specifications, handle vendor reviews, and participate in bid evaluations.
  • Ensure design meets constructability, operability, and maintainability requirements, and support on-site construction or commissioning as needed.
