Develop strategies to further improve process safety in design or through mitigations
Review and comment on:
o Process Flow Diagrams
o Process Piping and Instrument Diagrams
o Cause and Effect Diagrams
o Fire Water System Design Drawings
o Fire Exposed Envelopes Drawings
Lead risk assessments, hazard identification/evaluation studies, hazard operability studies, consequences analysis, layers of protection analysis and department reviews
Advise project team on safety risks identified and mitigation options
Advise project team on fire protection/prevention analysis and mitigations
Provide input and guidance in the development of process safety and risk management decision-Making tools
Participate in the building siting/overpressure analysis
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Process engineering, chemical engineering or equivalent science degree
Minimum 8 years of experience in Process safety design within a petrochemical/refinery/LNG export facility
Knowledge on hazard identification (HAZID), evaluation studies including vapor dispersion analysis, and risk assessments including hazard operability studies (HAZOP) addressing SIL and LOPA considerations and quantitative risk assessments (QRA); OSHA Process Safety Management Standard and EPA RMP Rule; Evaluating and making risk?based decisions regarding risk mitigation options and MOC amendments;
knowledge of software: including MS Office, PHA Pro, Bowtie, PHAST, FLACS
PE License is preferred
