Our client, a major Oil and Gas company, is looking for an Maintenance Assistant to join their team on a 6-months contract in Calgary, AB.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the maintenance team with daily tasks including inspections, repairs, and routine maintenance of equipment and facilities.
- Perform basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing repairs under the guidance of experienced maintenance staff.
- Assist in maintaining an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, ensuring they are organized and readily available.
- Help with the setup and breakdown of equipment for various operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area, ensuring all safety protocols and guidelines are followed.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops to develop skills and knowledge in maintenance practices.
- Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by the maintenance supervisor.
The successful candidate needs to be well-organized, energetic, and service-oriented with the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong interest in mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of tools and equipment used in maintenance work.
- Willingness to learn and take on new tasks.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.
- Previous experience in a maintenance or construction role is a plus but not required.
- Basic knowledge of safety procedures and protocols in an industrial setting.
