Airswift is seeking to invite an experienced Material Management Lead(f-2112) for NFPS Offshore & Pipelines Project (EPCOL).  Work location will be in Karimun Indonesia on 10 weeks on 2 weeks off rotation.


Job Purpose:

Overseas and delivers the materials receiving for NFPS EPCOL Greenfields in conjunction with the EPC Contractors Materials Teams in the fabrication yard.

Work hand in hand with EPC’s Contractor to ensure material receiving is completed and material delivered to the laydown area and preser requirements are implemented in line with Supplier requirements up to hand over to construction site


Reporting and Relationships

•          Reports to Construction Division Manager.

  • Direct reports: None


•            Frequent interactions with other EPC counterparts.

•          Daily interaction with Procurement lead and Logistics Coordinator on up-and-coming material deliveries

•          Daily interaction with planning and site construction teams to plan and execute forecast for material transfer from laydown to construction site


•          Daily interaction with EPC Contractor counterpart


Job Context & Major Challenge(s):

  • Responsible for ensuring that the Contractor supplied materials and equipment are received, stored, preserved, and handled in accordance with the Project procedures and specifications.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the Contractor’s Material Management System is timely developed and effectively implemented for controlling of the proper tooling, equipment and materials for their timely availability to meet the construction schedule
  • Support to the Completions Team for ensuring that the Contractor’s Preservation System is timely developed and effectively implemented to meet as a minimum Supplier provided preservation requirements.
  • Support to the Quality Team to ensure Receiving Inspections are performed and OS & D reports are issued in a timely manner to ensure rectifications can be performed so as not to impact on the overall schedule.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Ensure that Fabrication scope dependence is based on proactive materials management and supports the Contractor for sucess
  • Become thoroughly familiar with Contractor’s Purchase Orders, plans and specifications as they apply to the materials and equipment to be delivered to site and the storage and preservation requirements of each, and should review them frequently. Must be capable of immediately recognizing if the materials and/or equipment being delivered to site conform to contractual requirements.
  • Ensure Contractor’s timely development and effective implementation of Project Unloading, Transportation and Logistics Systems, Procedures, and Detailed schedules. Closely monitor and audit contractor’s relevant implementation plan.
  • Ensure Contractor has in place an efficient process for the clearance of shipping documentation for customs clearance.
  • Work with material control group, both the site team and the Contractor, to ensure logistics plan developed by contractor fits the scheduled delivery requirement, and jointly develop contingency measures for delivery recognizing the port capacity limitations
  • Work with construction planning group and interface group, together with other QG EPC’s as required, to facilitate alternative routes due to inevitable access road obstruction and to meet construction requirements. More importantly, preventative measures and pro-active contingency planning should be taken into constructability studies to minimize such obstructions.
  • Follow up and track with Contractor on impacts of origin transport packaging selection/packing on project supply chain (from origin receipt to installation at work-face) safety, quality and schedule
  • Work with Contractor on Material handling equipment (MHE) planning, standardization, selection and optimization
  • Provide support for QG Spares Management effort led from Qatar
  • Material laydown management (utilization, optimization, consolidation and egress)
  • Identify and work with the Contractor on Inbound and Last Mile material management constraint identification and mitigation and report issues to Construction Division Manager
  • Identify and work with the Contractor on Warehouse management and optimization including support for materials and equipment preservation
  • Achieving efficient and effective materials management outcomes through the analytics of Contractor data



15 years of construction activities on mega projects in the Oil & Gas industry with at least five years in supervision. Experience in offshore

project construction is desirable.


Knowledge and/or Experience:

•            Strong background in Site Materials Control, Preservation, warehousing and knowledge of Material Management System. Familiarity with material/equipment preservation and maintenance system and practice on projects of similar size and type.

  • 10 years’ experience of working on the fabrication site for the client in a similar role.

•            2 to 5 years’ experience working with Asian countries is preferred.



Technical and Business Skills:

  • Ability to work in an international environment and to meet the challenges of conducting projects in multiple countries with different cultural backgrounds.
  • Proactive team player with strong communication skills, including the ability to prepare timely reports, and interface with other disciplines and external groups. Ability to supervise or conduct work by influence
