Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to work within their facilities located in Kwinana, WA on a 12-month initial contract.

Job Overview:

Due to a period of significant expansion, our client is looking to add a seasoned Mechanical/Piping Engineer to join their Kwinana based site team working on the expansion of their existing refinery facilities.

Reporting into the Principal Mechanical and Piping Engineer, this role will provide assistance in the planning and checking of mechanical/piping design engineering deliverables associated with the expansion of the refinery.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning, checking of design drafting and conformance to standards.
  • Evaluate and execute all Mechanical/Piping design engineering deliverables and related services on portfolio of work within schedule.
  • Ensure deliverables are presentable, accurate and consistency checked as to the project requirements.
  • Provide creativity, foresight and mature design judgement in anticipating and solving Piping design problems efficiently and economically.
  • Liaise effectively with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide effective written communication in site surveys and technical reports.
  • Raising Change Requests when information and scope deviations arise.
  • Responsible for personal safety and working within the Occupational Health & Safety procedures.

What you will bring:

  • Seasoned mechanical design experience across complex industries, oil & gas, mining etc.
  • High level proficiency in MicroStation CAD software 2D/3D.
  • Experience in wet plant (pumps, tanks, vessels) and piping.
  • Experience in materials handling plant -  (well considered but not essential)
  • Ability to manage projects: budget, schedule, change management.
  • Able to manage small team of designers.
  • Understanding of Safety in Design.

Required Qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree recognized by Engineers Australia.
