Mechanical Marine Commissioning Technician

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Promotes safe working practices and to protect the health and well-being of Employees, Sub-contractors and customers
  • Reports to discipline Mechanical Engineer for technical matters
  • Ensures installations are compliant with approved specification, current shop drawings and current space management drawings
  • Enforces installation quality control in accordance with specifications
  • Ensures method statements are followed
  • Co-ordinates various mechanical contractors on site on a day-to-day basis
  • Performs of commissioning activities of all the mechanical equipment and installations on site
  • Performs testing mechanical equipment and installation


  • Institute of Technical Education Certificate or GCE ‘O’ Level preferred or related Mechanical Supervisor discipline
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in marine industry
  • Mechanical Tradesman (Welder or Pipe Fitter), preferably attaining position of Foreman during practical career
  • Shipbuilding related experience and local Shipbuilding knowledge is required
  • Hands-on experience in construction of Mechanical systems
  • Extensive Knowledge of Commissioning Techniques and System Start-up
  • Technically competent in applicable fields of Mechanical Engineering
