The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical design, particularly in the chemical processing industry. This role involves developing and optimizing mechanical systems and equipment for our chemical plant, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Development: Create and develop detailed mechanical designs for equipment and systems used in chemical processing, including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and piping systems.
- 3D Modeling: Utilize advanced CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) to produce high-quality 3D models and 2D drawings.
- Collaboration: Work closely with process engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs meet operational and safety requirements.
- Analysis: Conduct stress analysis, thermal analysis, and fluid flow simulations to validate designs and ensure optimal performance.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, calculations, and design reports.
- Project Management: Oversee design projects from concept through execution, ensuring timelines and budgets are adhered to.
- Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to junior designers and engineers, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- High School graduate plus Associate of Science degree or equivalent from technical school or college
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical design, with at least 3 years in the chemical or process industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.)
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and standards.
- Experience with piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and process flow diagrams (PFDs).
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, API, etc.).
