This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to work on a major project in Suriname, focusing on innovative solutions and high H3SE standards while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a vibrant work environment.

Role Overview

  • Promote a safety culture within the project and lead by example.
  • Ensure safe and ethical working practices are adhered to within managed activities.
  • Establish and manage activities that motivate counterparts to meet project targets.
  • Promote innovation while seeking optimization and cost savings throughout project phases.
  • Keep the Technical Lead and relevant parties informed about ongoing activities.
  • Identify, implement, and manage all contractor engineering related to NDT.
  • Monitor and control AUT process validation at contractor and subcontractor premises.
  • Assist in reviewing welding documentation and activities as required.
  • Oversee NDT activities within the package, ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Witness AUT/PAUT inspections and liaise with yard inspectors regarding NDT discipline.
  • Review and approve any special processes related to the NDT discipline.
  • Participate in resolving discipline-related problems during the execution phase.
  • Supervise detailed engineering by reviewing documentation issued by contractors.
  • Raise comments on unsafe designs, deviations, and constructability issues.
  • Liaise with other SURF specialists on engineering, procurement, and maintainability matters.
  • Act as a troubleshooter at fabrication sites to resolve discipline-related problems.
  • Ensure timely reporting to Package Leaders regarding progress and concerns.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all disciplines-related documentation produced.
  • Gather lessons learned and provide feedback to relevant leaders as required.
  • Provide service for offshore campaign follow-up of AUT inspections.
  • Train offshore AUT inspectors.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Subsea Engineering: Proven expertise in subsea engineering principles.
  • NDE & AUT Techniques: Strong knowledge of NDE with a focus on AUT techniques for carbon steel.
  • Communication Skills: Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Team Collaboration: Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Education & Experience

  • Degree: Engineering degree/MSc or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 10-15 years in the oil & gas industry, specifically on offshore/subsea projects.
  • Specialization: Proven field experience in NDE with a focus on AUT technique on carbon steel.
  • Certifications: ASNT Level III AUT and minimum LII RT essential; additional certifications in LII PT, LII MPI, Radiographic Interpretation preferred.
