This position provides support Onshore Drilling and Completions Team in the effective implementation of Health, Safety and Environment Management System, and in particular the Health, Safety and Environment Management System, contractor HSE assurance and management, monitoring & reporting of HSE performance and the promotion of continuous improvement in safe operations.
The role requires visible safety leadership and active engagement with Contractor, crew, and rig management to promote effective application of policies & procedures.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Assist and support the Senior Onsite Company Representative (OCR) in the monitoring and implementation of HSE Policy and Management System on site, including all standards, processes, and procedures.
- Provide HSE leadership that ensures the company HSE expectations are met.
- Provide support with field-based helicopter management process and assist in the assessment, and communication of designated Helicopter Landing Sites (HLS)
- Advise personnel on safe working practices with daily activities and be available to monitor critical operations.
- Active involvement with the planning and development of topical safety moments or presentations at for e.g. pre-tour meetings or weekly safety meeting.
- Coordinate company specific HSE initiatives and support principal contractors in their HSE initiatives.
- Evaluate effectiveness of safe systems of work and provide detailed communication and reports to the Onshore Senior HSE Advisor
- Regular participation in operational JHAs and evaluation of process effectiveness.
- Contribute to the development or review of hazard management process as required.
- Conduct HSE Assurance in accordance with the D&C Assurance schedule. Record and track to closure any identified areas for improvement.
- Verify Onshore D&C risk management controls are in place and adequate through active participation in the Line-of-Sight Risk Evaluation Process
- Promote and participate in regular task verification checks, area Inspections, permit audits, hazard hunts etc. preferably in conjunction with Principal Contractor and third-party personnel.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the Wellsite Onshore Permit to Work System and associated risk assessment mitigation strategies.
- Actively promote the support of the rig specific behavioral based observation system
- Be intimately familiar with Principal Contractors key HSE Management Systems (SMS) documentation including HSE Plan, HSE Bridging Documents and Emergency Response.
- Monitor compliance with HSE critical training of company and Principal Contractor personnel.
- Comply and record completion against agreed HSE Advisor Key Performance Indicators.
Knowledge, skills, and experience
- Tertiary HSE Qualification.
- Demonstrated Onshore HSE drilling experience. (5+ years)
- 4WD Driver Training competency equivalent to PMASUP236 Operate Vehicles in the Field
- Wellsite Permit to Work qualification to OCR competency level.
- Demonstrated HSE leadership skills and the ability to manage change processes.
- Demonstrated skills in implementation and ongoing management of HSE systems as they relate to drilling and completions.
- Experience in leading incident investigation and HSE audits.
- A sound knowledge of risk management processes and risk-based decision making.
